How to enter the contest:

Bring in the bottom of your Fry’s receipt(s) that note Neely and drop it in the jar. That’s it!

  • Student Name and Teacher must be on the back of the receipt.

The form opens at 7am on August 26th. It closes at 10am on Sept. 10th.

The form is set to take payments by cash, check, or PayPal. You may pay with a credit card or e-check through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account. 

Only 250 children will be enrolled. We will use names from a waiting list to add children if space opens up.

What does it cost?

It’s $18 for the first child enrolled, and $12 for each additional kid.  

This price includes a pizza dinner, water, a treat, and all events for the evening.

What should my kid bring?

Not much! For the movie portion of the evening, the kids will be allowed to lay out blankets and pillows to get comfortable on the cafeteria floor. This will be about 90 minutes at the end of the night. No toys or stuffed animals will be allowed. Please label all items with your name in case they are misplaced. These items will be stored in the music room until they are needed.

Your kid will NOT need a water bottle, a meal, or anything electronic! We have it all covered!

Who is going to be watching my kid?

Neely teachers! Aren’t they wonderful? Each grade will be with a certified teacher and several teen/parent helpers all evening. PTO board members will supervise and organize the event. Only registered volunteers will be allowed through the south cafeteria doors to ensure your child’s safety.

Give me the nitty-gritty. How does this all work?

Arrive before the doors open at 4:45 and get in the single line. Make sure you have your check-in card that will be sent home on Sept 12th. Volunteers will verify your child’s information, make sure you have what you need for check-out, attach allergy wristbands, and direct your kids where to go. You may stay in the cafeteria to help them get comfortable if needed, but only registered volunteers may enter the school campus.

Then you’re off for a kid free evening! We will contact you if your child needs you, we promise, so go with a carefree heart!

Return between 8:30 and 8:45. The east gate will be open and we will need you to be patient as we match children and parents safely. Do not leave younger siblings in the car, please. You will need to follow the check out procedure instructions you received when you dropped off your child(ren). If you do not have the required items, we will have a table so we can verify your ID. Proceed into the waiting area. We have wranglers there to collect your kids for you. Let the wrangler know who you are picking up. If you have a photo of them on your phone, have it available to show the wrangler to make finding the kids faster. Your kids will meet you by the double doors. A volunteer will collect and match you to your child’s nametag at the end of the waiting area and you will be free to go.

*If you have a 6th grader, please use the Remind app at pick-up to text the 6th grade team your child’s name and that you are in line and they will send your kid to the cafeteria.

Dropping your kid off for their first day at Neely can be an emotional experience! For some of us, it’s marked by tears at how quickly he or she is growing up; for others, it’s a celebration of how much he or she has grown. Either way, we want to give you a place filled with like-minded parents, grandparents, and caregivers to connect with!

On the first day of school, follow the signs to meet us under the West Ramada after the bell has rung and the little (or big) ones have marched off to their classrooms, dwarfed by their backpacks. We will have a light breakfast and tissues, as well as PTO members present to answers questions you have about Neely.

Families of all new Neely students, from Kindergarten to 6th grade, are welcome!

If you’re new to Neely, you may wonder what happens at Back to School Night.

Here is what you need to know:

Back to school night is a chance to familiarize yourself with the campus, meet teachers and staff, and fill out SOOOO MANY forms! Bring a good pen, seriously.

The PTO table is a great first stop. We run almost every social event on campus, except school concerts and academic-event related nights (but we still have information about those, too).

We can answer questions and give you information on what to expect throughout the year.

Since our main goal with our events is fundraising, we start off the year with our T-Shirt sales.

We have shirts for adults and kids, in two designs. Shirts are $15 each. You can purchase them on our site, or stop by our table on Back to School Night, or come by the office. We will have a majority of the shirts in stock and we have sample sizes of everything so you can be sure to get exactly what you need!

Once that is done, you have more to do!

Plan to:

  • Meet your child’s teacher and see their classroom and desk set-up. Class Lists will be available to view at our Teacher Reveal Restaurant Night at Peter Piper Pizza.
  • Bring your supplies so your kiddo isn’t weighed down the first day! Supply lists are available for each grade in PDF format. You can also find these lists on the Neely website. More information is in this post
  • Take a walk around campus and find your Art, Music, PE, and other classrooms.
  • If you haven’t already, stop by the Cafeteria to see everything Neely has to offer, from VIK to PTO; it’s all in one place! 

ONE MORE THING!

We offer a PTO Membership for $10 that comes with many benefits:

  • Extended registration deadline – One weekend early on most events. This is helpful for our events that usually sell out early.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

The Prime Day event is an annual celebration held for Amazon’s birthday, and this year it is to mark its 22nd year of business. It was first started in 2015. It was so successful that Amazon decided to make it an annual event. More than 100,000 deals were featured for consumers last year. Amazon will run select deals for an entire week.

 

When is Amazon Prime Day 2019?

Amazon has revealed that Prime Day will be a 48-hour shopping event.

Prime Day Sale will run from midnight PT on Monday, July 15 through Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

The first two Prime Days lasted 24 hours, but in 2017 event lasted for 30 hours. Amazon upped the ante for 2018 with Prime Day scheduled to go for 36 hours but this year it’ll be open for 48 hours.

 

Do I need to be an Amazon Prime customer?

While we hope you will stay and participate in the Restaurant Night Fundraiser, you DO NOT have to purchase anything to get the early look. 

First check in at the Welcome table to get your sticker for FREE TOKENS with any purchase!

Next find the PTO member wearing a Neely Shirt. He or she will have binders on the table sorted by grade. Take a look at who your child has for the year. You may even be able to meet some of his or her future classmates!

Our shirts are a soft, pre-shrunk cotton blend. They are a gently fitted, longer cut, flattering to all body types. Professionally screen printed with long lasting ink that is sure to make it through all those trips through the washer. Shirts generally fit true to size.

Pricing

Both shirts are normally $15 but are on sale now for only $14. (Sizes 2XL and above are $2 extra in cost.) Only shirts  ordered online before July 10th will be sold at this price, so don’t wait! If a style sells out, we do not know when we will reach the printer minimums for back orders so we strongly advise ordering during the pre-sale period to ensure timely delivery!

Each grade is different


Each grade has a specific list that matches what the students will need for the year.  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Each grade has instructions for names on items or not. If it is not specified (older grades), you may write the student’s name on the materials in a small, easily covered or erased manner.

Parents, please purchase Ticonderoga pencils for school. It really does matter! Other brands to choose if they’re similarly priced to competitors: Expo Dry Erase, Crayola crayons, and Elmers glue sticks. These aren’t as important as the pencil brand, but they’re nicer products than the competitors’.

For other items (paper, folders, erasers, etc) brands do not matter as much, so whatever is on sale is fine as long as it meets the listed description. Plastic folders must be plastic and not paper, for instance.

 

Supplies can be brought to school during Back to School Night so your child can come to their first day without armloads of supplies. It also helps teachers by giving them time to organize and prepare the supplies for their classroom.

The Design Process

Our shirts were chosen from our school-wide T-Shirt Design Competition in May. We chose two of the many wonderful options and had them professionally edited and printed. 

The first design is a Castle filled with all of the most important elements of Neely. At the forefront of the design are the 6 Pillars of Character, in bold typeface on a rich blue background.

The second is the Neely Knight in silver ink on a dark grey background above the Neely Shield. Both shirts reflect the school’s 20th anniversary.
