It’s hot, summer is approaching, and we could all use a chance to cool off. Join us for our yearbook signing party and enjoy some cold treats.

Each Neely kid gets one treat free!

Teachers get a free treat, too! Choose from an ice cream sandwich or a fruit popsicle. Additional treats can be purchased for 50c each.  

Bring your yearbook and join us in the cafeteria on May 17th from 5:00-6:30. The whole family is welcome.

We will also be selling gel pens in fun colors for $1 each, if you forget to bring something to sign with.

Yearbooks will be handed out at the end of the school day on Friday, May 17th. A few extra yearbooks were ordered. These will be sold (first come, first served, in person) in the office on Friday for $30 each. If there are any left, we will sell them at the Ice Cream Social.

Event is cash or check only for pens, yearbooks, and additional treats.

 

Box Tops Drive

May 13-17

School is almost out for the summer. It’s time to turn in all of your Box Tops before the year is over and they expire.

Bring your Box Tops in the morning (before school starts) to the table under the East Ramada, from May 13th through May 17th. A prize will be given to each student when they turn in at least 5 Box Tops together. One prize per student, please.

The classroom with the most Box Tops submitted will win a $25 gift card for their teacher.

We are keeping it simple at the end of the year. We know you’re busy! The last check from Box Tops was just over $400. Those little 10c cardboard rectangles add up quickly, so send them in!

Each year, we partner with SchoolKidz to save you some time shopping and earn funds for our PTO!

Teachers have made their student school supply lists and sent them off to SchoolKidz. Each kit is customized to the grade your child will be in next year, and all items are the name brands that teachers request. No Target lines, no scanning ads and running to 7 stores, no stress at all! You don’t even have to load up bags and boxes and haul it all to school! Kits will be delivered to you at Back to School Night at Neely in August. 🙂

There’s more, too. Is your kiddo’s backpack looking a little tired? You can order a new one along with your kit. Water bottles, lunch boxes, and all those other things that kids need for school are available, too!

Our PRIVATE Neely Skate Party!

Join us right after school ends on the last day of the year at Skateland in Chandler: 12:45-3:45, May 23, 2019. Last year, we had over 100 people skating!

We are holding a Pre-Sale to cut down on your wait time. Entrance, Lunch Deals, and Skate Rental call all be purchased by returning the paper flyer that was sent home today. Can’t find it? You can print one HERE.

Lunch Deals are available during the Pre-Sale only. Admission and Rentals can be purchased during the Pre-Sale or at the door.

Any Neely family is welcome! Children do not have to attend Neely, but they do need to be accompanied by someone who currently has a child at Neely (so you can bring your neighbor kids or cousins that you’re watching that day).

Pre-Sale purchases are due to the Neely Office on May 21. Entrance, Lunch, and Rental tickets will come home in an envelope on May 22nd.

The DETAILS:

Anyone who wants to skate must pay an admission fee.  The cost is $3 for each child and $2 for each adult. We are offering a price break with a family maximum for SKATERS of $10. Rentals and lunch will be an additional cost. Non-skaters are welcome to come for free. Also, if you have young kids, you CAN bring a stroller and skate them in it around the rink with you for free!  100% of the cost of admission comes back to Neely!

Skateland is offering a Lunch Deal for us. $3 will purchase a slice of pizza and a small drink. There will be a table set out where you can redeem your Pre-Sale ticket for your slice and drink without waiting in the concession line. You may choose any drink, but we will have Sprite and Coke in pre-filled cups.

You can bring and wear your own skates. If you need skates, Skate Rentals can be purchased ahead of time. Old-school skates are $3.50 per pair and RollerBlades are $4.50. Just give your Skate Rental ticket to the attendant at the skate counter.

Skate-Mates (those pvc-pipe supports on wheels) can be rented at the door only. 

The entire Skateland facility is open only to Neely families so you’re sure to find a friend!

At Neely, we honor every one on campus, all in one week!

May 6-10, 2019

Sure, we call it Teacher Appreciation Week, but it’s really Staff Appreciation. Every person who spends their work hours at Neely is part of the fun! We honor them with daily raffle prizes, lunches, treats, notes, and so much more!

You can help by checking out the Sign-Up Genius. On it are really simple things: stocking the fridge with all of the staff’s favorite drinks and bringing in part of a meal for them. That’s it!

Your room parent will contact you with specifics for your teacher, so be looking for that email soon. Everything is designed to be easy and inexpensive to allow all children to participate.

The form opens at 8am on April 15th. It closes at 10am on April 24th.

The form is set to take payments by cash, check, or PayPal. You may pay with a credit card or e-check through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account. 

Only 275 children will be enrolled. We will use names from a waiting list to add children if space opens up.

What does it cost?

It’s $18 for the first child enrolled, and $12 for each additional kid.  

This price includes a pizza dinner, water, a treat, and all events for the evening.

What should my kid bring?

Not much! For the movie portion of the evening, the kids will be allowed to lay out blankets and pillows to get comfortable on the cafeteria floor. This will only be about 45 minutes at the end of the night, so they may not need anything. No toys or stuffed animals will be allowed. Please label all items with your name in case they are misplaced. These items will be stored in the music room until they are needed.

Your kid will NOT need a water bottle, a meal, or anything electronic! We have it all covered!

Who is going to be watching my kid?

Neely teachers! Aren’t they wonderful? Each grade will be with a certified teacher and several teen/parent helpers all evening. PTO board members will supervise and organize the event. Only registered volunteers will be allowed through the south cafeteria doors to ensure your child’s safety.

Give me the nitty-gritty. How does this all work?

Arrive before the doors open at 4:45 and get in the single line. Make sure you have your check-in card that will be sent home on April 24th. Volunteers will verify your child’s information, detach your check-out slip, attach allergy wristbands, and direct your kids where to go. You may walk them into the cafeteria to help them get comfortable if needed, but only registered volunteers may enter the school campus.

Then you’re off for a kid free evening! We will contact you if your child needs you, we promise, so go with a carefree heart!

Return between 8:30 and 8:45. The east cafeteria door will be open and we will need you to be patient as we match children and parents safely. Do not leave younger siblings in the car, please. You will need the check-out slip you received when you dropped off your child(ren). If you do not have a check-out slip, we will have a table so we can verify your ID. Proceed into the waiting area. We have wranglers there to collect your kids for you. Show one of them your check-out slip. If you have a photo of them on your phone, have it available to show the wrangler to make finding the kids faster. Your kids will meet you by the double doors. A volunteer will collect and match your check-out slip to your child’s nametag at the end of the waiting area and you will be free to go.

*If you have a 6th grader, please use the Remind app at pick-up to text the 6th grade team your child’s name and that you are in line and they will send your kid to the cafeteria.

Orders are filled on a first come, first serve basis, so we will be placing orders weekly. Use the button above to print a paper form. Forms were also given to the teachers to send home today. No online orders will be accepted. Make sure you clearly mark your first and second choices for both theater and day of week. Parent and child tickets are the same price. Tickets are $7 per person.

 

If you haven’t attended the Summer Movie Program at Harkins before, here’s a little more about it:

  • All movies start at 9:45am.
  • One movie is shown each week. The movies are shown in the order listed above.
  • Your ticket is valid for guaranteed entry at your theater on your day only. You can attend on a different day if there are spaces available when you show up to the theater (there is usually room).
  • You can give your tickets to someone else if you can’t attend one week.
  • All “rooms” in a theater are showing the same movie, so pick whichever room you like.
  • The showings are very kid friendly, so little kids are ok to bring. 
  • Everyone 3 years and older needs a ticket.  Seats are only guaranteed for ticket holders so children 2 and under may need to sit on a parent’s lap.
  • Parents must stay with kids.
  • No adults without children will be admitted, so Grandma must enter with your family if she wants to come. 
  • You can use your Harkins Loyalty Cups during the Summer Movie.

Snooze Pancake Breakfast

National Pancake Day is almost here, and we’re ready to celebrate with 6 different types of pancakes, all of which are throwbacks! From Polidori in a Blanket, to Strawberry Fields Forever, to the King Cake, there’s a pancake on there to start your day on the right foot. There are even Vegan and Gluten-Free options!

100% of pancake sales on Pancake Day at all Snooze Restaurants will be going back to local gardens in our communities. At Snooze, an A.M. Eatery Gilbert, all proceeds with be going to Neely Traditional Academy‘s School Garden.

What can I do there?

We fill the field with all kinds of attractions – bouncy houses, mazes, interactive inflatable games, and more! There is even a petting zoo with all kinds of sweet animals to enjoy. 

Then we take over the basketball courts and have all of the traditional carnival game booths, including prizes! We have a DJ spinning awesome tunes, face painting, and balloon animals to keep you entertained all night.

Everyone, ages 4-18, will need a wristband to enjoy the activities.  Kids under 4 are free.

Wristbands Pricing

  • $15 each – PRESALE ONLY
  • $20 each at the door.

We know this can add up fast, so we only charge for the first 3 children in a family. Additional wristbands for children beyond those 3 are complimentary. Only children living in the same household can receive complimentary wristbands. Please honor this limit so that we may continue to offer it to our families in the future.

    

 

What can I eat?

We serve traditional carnival food: burgers, hot dogs, soda, chips, and sweet concession stand goodies. To make things easy, items sold by the PTO can only be purchased with carnival tickets. The tickets are NOT for rides or booths. 

Prices are as follows:

  • Meals (main item, chips, and a soda):
    • Burger (Plain, Cheese, or Veggie) Meal – 6 tickets
    • Hot Dog Meal – 5 tickets
  • A la carte items:
    • Bag of Chips –1 ticket
    • Soda – 1 ticket
    • Most concession items – 1 ticket
    • Cotton Candy – 2 tickets
    • Kettle Corn – 2 tickets

You can purchase tickets at either of the cashier tables (under the ramada or in the cafeteria). 

Ticket Pricing: 

  • $1 per single ticket
  • $20 for 25 tickets – PRESALE ONLY

 

New this year: BAHAMA BUCKS!  They will be on campus selling their amazing treats. They will accept cash only, but you can get cash back from your credit card at any cashier table ($10 minimum charge). Bahama Bucks is giving us a percentage of all sales that night, so treat everyone in the family and feel great about it!

Why aren’t we eating in the cafeteria?

Because we have soooo many awesome things to win in there!

Each class has put together a RAFFLE BASKET worth at least $100. There are baskets of cash, gift cards, services, food, and more in there and any of them could be yours for just a single raffle ticket! Your name and phone number MUST be on the back of the ticket to win. You do not need to be present to win.

The same tickets are used for food and the raffle.

While you’re in there, take a look at the SILENT AUCTION items. These usually get sold at a significant discount from face value so you can score a deal! Make sure to write your name, email, and phone number clearly next to your bid so we can contact you when you win! We will send you a PayPal invoice so you can pay right on your phone, no PayPal account needed.
