Our teachers are working hard in these unusual times and we want to celebrate them however we can! The PTO will be giving a gift to each staff member this week. In addition, we came up with a few ideas so you can celebrate them, too!
May 4th, Monday: Design it in chalk – Create a chalk drawing or design and snap a photo of it to share with your teacher. This can be outside, on paper, or any other creative space. Have fun!
May 5th, Tuesday: Wear your teacher’s favorite color – During your meeting, make sure she or he can see that you are wearing his or her favorite color. This can be a shirt, a hairbow, pants, or even facepaint! No meeting? Take a photo and send it to them!
May 6th, Wednesday: Write a poem – Celebrate your teachers with a poem about them. It can be a haiku, freeform, an acrostic, or any one of the many styles you’ve been taught. Teachers love to see what you’ve learned so show off a little!
May 7th, Thursday: Send a Thank You note – This can be from parents or kids or both! Send off a note reminding teachers and staff that what they’re doing is making a difference. All teachers and staff have district email addresses that you can send notes too. If you don’t have one for someone you want to thank, you can send it to [email protected] and we can forward it.
May 8th, Friday: Kid’s Artwork – Have your children create and share a special piece of artwork just for their teacher or whomever they want to recognize.
Not sure what the favorites of your teacher are? We have a helpful online list! Check it out.
